Finding
a website on the Internet can sometimes be like finding
a needle in a haystack. Finding a specific page on
the site may be even more difficult.
Search
Engines are the "chief librarians" of the
Internet. They have complex software protocols
that rummage through Internet 24/7 365 days a
year. They search all through a site's listed
pages and store information about the name of a page,
name of the site, metatag information, page content and
end up giving it a ranking score. But that is not all.
Read
on for the important stuff.
When
you use a search engine, and type in a keyword or
phrase, the engine returns a list of sites and pages as
they see it pertains to your inquiry. Click at the
bottom of this page to go to Yahoo-then type in the a
phrase that describes your business. See what
happens. Usually the engine returns a list of
pages, each page listing 10-15 pages that may have
information about your site or page. Sometimes the
engine will note that it has 100,000 pages that pertain
to your inquiry. What does this mean? If you
aren't ranked in the Top 30 chances are no one will see
your business. Recently search engines
started adding new rules to their ranking
protocols.
Unbelievable
as it may seem, the search engines have the ability to
tell at any one time how many other sites link to
yours. They consider this interconnectedness
important because it means that other websites also
think your information is important. With these
referring links in mind, it is important to understand
several things.
Links
can be banner links, or they can be text links.
A search engine doesn't know what a banner says, only
that it is a picture linked to your site. A text
link on the other hand is descriptive. If a
descriptive text link points at your site, the search
engine looks at what the link says, and looks at what
the site it is pointing to is about. If the text
link's meaning points to content that is similar
in meaning then the page receives a higher ranking
score.
Some
engines also look at the other content on the referring
page to see if the two pages have similar content.
If they do, then this is even more plus points.
For example, a page about plastic surgery, with a text
link that describes a plastic surgery procedure,
pointing to a page on another site that talks about the
plastic surgery will give the target page higher search
engine ranking.
This is
where our service comes in.
We
make an optimized a specific page for your business,
with content from your site, tweak the appearance,
create text links that are anchored into content on your
site, and on different pages on your site. This helps
increase the ranking of multiple pages on your
site. This is important, because people often
happen into your site on pages other than the front
page. If the search engines don't rank that other
pages well, then your missing traffic.
So
why not get another website and just "mirror"
it towards your existing site. Because it takes
time and money. It cost hosting fees, domain
registration, and web design. You can't just take
the existing site and put it at another domain and point
it towards your primary site. The search engines
are designed to see identical content.

to help enhance your website's visibility.
Your
page and the referring links always remain here.
They don't disappear like on FFA pages.

those of your competition.
And

directory
